School Meals
The academy is fortunate to have its own kitchen and meals are cooked on site. This provides a daily choice of main meal, vegetarian option, sandwich option or jacket potato. The meals have to be ordered and paid for online via Chartwells’ online payment system, Parent Pay. These need to be ordered at least one week in advance, by the latest on the Sunday for the following week on Monday, and payment is made at that time.
Important Allergy Information
To support children with life threatening allergies, Signhills Academy is a nut free school. This includes Nutella products.
Packed Lunch
If your child chooses to bring a packed lunch it will be stored on a trolley until lunchtime. Please ensure that the lunchbox is clearly labelled, and that any containers (especially drinks) are securely fastened. Please try to ensure that your child has the appropriate amount of food and that it is a balanced and nutritious meal. Whilst chocolate and crisps may be the food of choice for your child, a poor lunch has an impact on their ability to have a successful afternoon. For a number of reasons, fizzy drinks or flasks of hot food/drink are not acceptable. Unfortunately, if a child forgets their packed lunch there is no facility for the school to provide them with a cooked meal as these are only cooked to order, so parents will be required to bring a packed lunch into school.
